In 2018, the Muskies have moved to a new region, paired with the Central Valley League. This years tournament is being hosted in Watkins. After the games were rained out on Saturday, the Muskies opened up the tournament on Sunday vs the Pearl Lake Lakers.
Tim Burns started the game with a long 3 run home run in the first, preceded by a double by Andrew Deters and a single by Ethan Carlson.
Adam Wenker held Pearl Lake scoreless until the 3rd when Max Fuchs knocked in Chad Kunkel on a sac fly.
The Muskies scored a run in the bottom of the inning on a 2 out balk call that scored Burns. The Lakers added an unearned run in the 6th, but stranded runners on 2nd and 3rd, with Wenker striking out the final batter of the inning.
The game was broken open in the 8th, with the Muskies scoring 6 runs with 2 outs, highlighted by a 3 run triple by Jace Otto.
The Muskies now move on to face the Cold Spring Rockies on Friday Night at 8:30 in the winners bracket.
